Your First Visit

We understand the entire physical therapy experience is important to you.  Our staff is warm and friendly, from our receptionist to all of our therapists.   The waiting room is mainly for friends and family, not for patients, because patients are generally seen straightaway.  Friends and family will find the waiting room comfortable with plenty of recent magazines.  Our treatment rooms are clean and well equipped.  In fact, you will find physical therapy equipment here you are not likely to find in other clinics.

We understand you have a choice regarding where you go for physical therapy.  Thank you for the chance to earn your business and your trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

* What makes Sequoia different?
Sequoia has friendly, caring therapists who are skilled in manual therapy and constantly learning so they provide the best care possible.  In addition, Sequoia has some of the most advanced physical therapy equipment – the same equipment used on professional athletes to speed their healing process after surgery.  This includes the vibration platform and the unweighting over the treadmill.

* Do I need to see a doctor before coming to physical therapy?
In the state of California, therapists must have a diagnosis from a doctor before they can provide treatment.  However, our therapists can provide an assessment prior to seeing the doctor.  An initial consultation including a Back Mapping or Successful Aging assessment, is provided free of charge.

* What should I expect in the first visit?
Once you have a prescription for physical therapy from your doctor, we can begin treatment.  Most of the first visit will be devoted to a thorough evaluation.  Typically, you will also receive some therapy on the first visit as well.  It is important to come early on the first visit so you can fill out some paperwork (or fill it out online and print it out before you come).  If your appointment is delayed because you are doing paperwork, that could cut into your time to receive therapy.

* What should I wear?
In general, wear comfortable or workout clothes.  The therapists may have you riding a stationary bike or walking on a treadmill.  If you need a gown, one will be provided to you.

* How long will the appointments last?
Typically, an hour to an hour and a half.

* What types of insurance do you accept?
We accept almost all types of PPO insurance, Worker’s comp and Medicare.

*What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks and major credit cards.
